Nsome ways, downtown Princeton is
a little bit like Paris. Scratch that — in some
ways, Paris, at its best, can remind one
of Princeton.
Both offer bookstores where a curious
mind can wile away the hours, art-house
cinema, cutting-edge theater, strategically
placed benches for watching iconoclastic
people, and the mingling aromas of freshly
brewed coffee and saute´ing garlic.
When Mimi and Steve Omiecinski lived in
Florida, they had cavernous space and too
much lawn to mow. So when they moved to
Princeton nearly two years ago, they bought a
two-bedroom apartment right in the heart of
town. Look up at Lower Pyne, the Tudor
Revival structure on Nassau Street that
houses Hamilton Jewelers and Starbucks, and
inside one of those bay windows is where the
Omiecinski family gathers around the hearth.
